Morris – Friends’ Primary Years offers educational programs from Kindergarten to Year 6. From the very beginning we pay particular attention to the social and emotional needs of children, incorporating academic, physical and spiritual development. We aim to develop young people who can think clearly, act with integrity, be strong in service and hold a global perspective. Every student is acknowledged as a unique individual who is supported by the School.
The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) is the curriculum framework in which we incorporate the Australian Curriculum outcomes for early childhood and primary. The PYP uses an inquiry approach that encourages students to explore, develop and question. For more information pertaining to the activities, policies and guidelines please read the Morris Handbook.
In Kindergarten, constructive play and exploration inspired by the Reggio philosophy, provides a solid basis for children moving into the more formal primary program where English, Mathematics, along with other National Curriculum outcomes and the development of independent learning skills are the focus. Each child’s development is documented and tracked in consultation with parents.
