About us

The School covers two key sites: 395 Argyle Street (Friends' Early Years, Morris, Clemes and Walker Residence) and 23 Commercial Road (High School and School Administration). The Commercial Road site is linked to the Argyle Street site by a short walk across the overpass from Wilson and Carr Streets.  Commercial Road is used for access to the main Administration office for the whole School.

Walker House

Walker House is a co-education on-campus student residence on the Lewis Street boundary of the Argyle Street campus.  Walker House accommodates up to 47 domestic and international students.

 

Quaker Meeting House

On the Boa Vista Road site, the Hobart Meeting House of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) is located for Community and School use.

 

Friends Health & Fitness

This complex contains an indoor heated swimming pool, spa, steamroom, gym, tennis courts, juice bar and physiotherapist's rooms.  The School uses the centre for Physical Education classes and for Co-curricular activities.  Discount membership is available to all staff. Parking and main entrance is on Wilson Street.

 

Robey House

The building on the corner of Wilson and Elizabeth Streets houses The Uniform Centre, and residential accommodation for students on GAP Placement, assistant teachers, Walker House Boarding supervisors and visitors to the School.

 

Sports Facilities

Extensive sports grounds for the whole School are situated about 2 km north of the School between Bell Street and Queens Walk, New Town.

 

Friends' School Rowing Shed is situated in Lallaby Road on New Town Bay.

 

Orford

The School owns approximately 19 hectares of bushland at Orford and is currently developing a management plan for its use.

 

Far South Wilderness Camp

In 2007 the School purchased this wilderness camp and plans to use it for environmental education from Kindergarten to Year 12.
