Rowing has been a strength at Friends’ since it commenced in 1905. Currently, around 140 boys and girls row for the School. The Girls’ Open Eight won Head of the River at the annual Lake Barrington regatta for two consecutive years in 2015 and 2016.
Rowing provides challenges, self-discipline and great camaraderie, and the dedication, hard work and training it requires has reaped rewards for many rowers, supporters and parents. Many Friends’ rowers warmly recall memories of training and rowing together as a crew.
