The Friends' School

2017 Tuition Fees

With a few exceptions, tuition fees at The Friends’ School are fully inclusive of all aspects of the comprehensive Friends’ learning experience.

Fees include the provision, servicing, insurance, educational software and tech support for laptop computers or ipads for every student from Year 4 through to Year 12.

All materials, books and stationery are provided for primary year students (to Year 6) and tuition fees also include all school camp costs, class excursions, outdoor education and most co-curricular activities.

Fees for Year 6 students include the annual trip to Canberra, which is provided to enhance a curriculum unit on government.

The only additional costs that apply to Friends’ School students are:

  • $50 for a laptop bag
  • Annual Rowing Levy for students who choose to pursue rowing
  • Individual tuition (such as for private music lessons)
  • Sundry costs (for example, interstate or international travel, or significant materials costs for some design and technology studies)
  • An additional charge for students undertaking the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Years 11 and 12.
Fee Concessions are provided if more than one child within a family attends Friends’.

Supplementary Financial Assistance

The Friends’ School offers a range of scholarships and bursaries to assist families to meet the financial requirements of attendance at Friends’. Some scholarships and bursaries are funded from bequests and gifts to the School, while others are funded from the School’s financial reserves.
