Supporting the School
Philanthropy has been a vital part of Friends’ since the School started in 1887. If Hobart Quakers had not asked Quakers in London Yearly Meeting for support to open a School, The Friends’ School would not exist today. Through the School’s Giving Programs we aim to continue our strong philanthropic heritage and engage the whole community on the importance of giving and the positive impact that our combined efforts can have on students, staff and the School.
Our goal has always been to assist students to grow into adults who become positive, contributing members of society: to learn of the world as it is, and be prepared to engage with the world to change it into what it ought to be. School fees cover the costs of running Friends’, philanthropy transforms it and allows our students to fulfil their potential. Be assured that students have a better learning experience because of your generosity.
Friends’ run an Annual Giving program, encourage Bequests, and seek Major Gifts in support of special building and scholarship programs. You can choose from a range of giving initiatives to make a real difference for our students and ensure Friends’ continues to be a school that encourages students to reach their potential and be active global citizens.
Small gifts or large, it’s participation that matters most at Friends — we value the generous support of our community and recognise that any contribution is significant to the future of our School and our students. Our community is what differentiates us and we are very grateful for any support we receive for our students and staff. Every gift makes a difference.
