Year 5s Welcome CCAMLR Delegates to Hobart

This week, some of our Year 5 students welcomed delegates for the annual CCAMLR HQ meeting. They proudly waived Member State flags and displayed stunning photographs from National Geographic photographer Laurent Ballesta to celebrate the historic creation of the world’s largest Marine Protected Area in the Ross Sea (combined size of Spain, France and Germany!), as well as encourage the creation of reserves in East Antarctica and the Weddell Sea. You can listen to a radio interview featuring some of the students here.

P&F Holiday Season Cards
Keep those entries rolling in for the P&F’s Christmas and Holiday Season cards! All students from Kinder to Year 12 are encouraged to submit an entry in their choice of media (hard copy, A4 size or smaller) on the theme of “What Christmas (or the Holiday Season) means to me”. Five outstanding artworks will be chosen to feature on the P&F Christmas and Holiday Season cards. Artworks will be judged not only on artistic merit and creativity, but also on the basis of their transferability to a 10x15cm card format. Please note that the closing date for entries is now Monday 30 October, due to the Hobart Show Day long weekend. Please place entries into boxes provided in Morris and Commercial Road Reception areas. The student’s name should not appear on the face of the artwork, however each entry should be clearly identified with name, class/year level of entrant and the title of the artwork (if applicable) attached to the back of the artwork. Original artworks will be returned to the artist on request.
