Morris Soiree
The Term 3 Morris soiree will take place on Tuesday 29 August at 6.15pm in The Farrall Centre. All are welcome to attend what will be a varied and delightful concert.

City of Clarence Eisteddfod
The following ensembles will be performing at the upcoming City of Clarence Eisteddfod:

  • Year 7/8 Choir – Monday 4 September, section commencing at 10.00am, CityWide
  • Morris Majors – Tuesday 5 September, section commencing at 9.30am, CityWide
  • Chinese Music Ensemble – Tuesday 5 September, section commencing at 9.30am, Clarence Uniting Church Bellerive

Audience members are most welcome for a small entry fee.

Choir Trip to Ballarat
With the Man Choir and Bella Voce Choir soon to head to Ballarat to perform at the South Street Eisteddfod, we have called another additional rehearsal on Saturday 26 August from 2.30 to 5pm in the Sheila Given Music Centre.
At 4.45pm that day, the choirs will present the pieces to be performed at the Eisteddfod. Families and friends are warmly invited to hear the choirs perform at that time and to receive last minute information about the trip that will depart the next day.
We wish the choirs well as they travel to Ballarat.

Virtuosi Contemporary Guitar Concert – Friday 8 September
We look forward to hosting internationally acclaimed guitarists Stig Mathisen and Richard Smith when visiting Tasmania next month. The two will present a public concert in The Farrall Centre on Friday 8 September, commencing at 7pm.
Several of our UTAS College Contemporary Music Students will also perform as will the Clemes Combo Group.
Tickets are $20 for adults; $10 for students / concession. Tickets may be purchased from TryBooking. Friends’ students will be admitted free of charge.
The concert will be preceded by a
workshop for guitarists at 4pm the same day. All Friends’ School guitar players are encouraged to participate.

Spring Showcase Concert – Tuesday 19 September
With so many students involved in Music at Friends’ we need another concert to share their work. Therefore, please join us for an evening of solo and chamber items at the Spring Showcase Concert on Tuesday 19 September, commencing at 7pm in The Farrall Centre.
This will be a free event and all are welcome to attend. Students from all three sections of the School will perform. More details will be sent home to families of performing students in the coming weeks.

Morris Assembly Performances
The Morris Classical Guitar Ensemble and Year 5 Band will be performing at assemblies shortly to share their music making with the School community on the following dates:

  • Morris Classical Guitar Ensemble – Walpole Assembly – 2.15pm, Monday 28 August
  • Year 5 Band – Morris Assembly – 9.00am, Tuesday 5 September

Both performances will take place in The Farrall Centre.  Families are welcome to attend these assemblies to enjoy their performances.
