Year 5 Outdoor Education Excursion to Kaoota Tramway Walk – 22 and 29 May, 5 June
As part of the Year 5 Outdoor Education program students will be undertaking the 6km Kaoota Tramway bushwalk near Margate. This excursion provides students with an enriching wilderness experience and helps to develop knowledge on the history of the location. Students will also develop bushwalking and teamwork skills and develop an understanding of Leave No Trace principles. Students will need to wear long pants, appropriate layers of warm clothing and suitable walking shoes (for example, hiking shoes/hiking boots/runners). Students must also bring a waterproof raincoat, beanie, a large water bottle, lunch and plenty of snacks in a suitable backpack lined with a garbage bag (for waterproofing).
5A – Monday 22 May
5D – Monday 29 May
5M – Monday 5 June
Year 3 Outdoor Education Excursion to Fossil Cove and Snug Falls – 24 May
On Wednesday 24 May Year 3 students will be traveling to Fossil Cove, Tinderbox and Snug Falls for an Outdoor Education excursion. They will be leaving school at 9.00am and returning at 3.00pm. This excursion will provide students with an opportunity for familiarisation with the outdoors, development of self-management and teamwork techniques, and in particular an increased understanding of our responsibility to preserve and care for important places.
Students will need to wear clothes suitable for the bush and the weather conditions, including jumper, long pants, raincoat and bushwalking boots or sturdy shoes as some bush walks have muddy terrain. They will also need a waterproof daypack (a pack lined with a tough garbage bag), food and water for the day and any personal medications. The Year 3 students will be engaged in a range of activities related to our unit of inquiry Saving the Planet.

End of Term Two ‘Tigers and Teapots’ Community Singalong – 7 July
On Friday 7 July all Wells children will be celebrating the end of term with a singalong. This singalong will take place in The Farrall Centre Auditorium from 2.30pm to 3.00pm. Families of Wells children are warmly invited to join in the singalong of several well known children’s songs and a couple of nursery rhymes for younger siblings too. Each song will be accompanied by string players from Morris and the high school. Our community singalong is a ‘cushion concert’ where we invite family members to sit alongside their children and enjoy singing together, so please bring a cushion if you need one. More information about the ‘Tigers and Teapots’ songs can be found here. Enjoy exploring this site and its music with your children before the singalong day.
