Available Positions

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and caring person to join our team of staff supervising students living in the School’s Boarding House, Walker House.

Supervising staff report to the Director of Boarding, who also lives on site, and are responsible for the welfare and supervision of boarding students in Years 7 to 12, on a roster basis. The supervisors actively and positively contribute to the provision of quality care and education to all boarders in our community.

This is a live-in position with a remuneration package including accommodation (private room, and ensuite), all meals, utilities, generous salary and no cost use of the Friends Health & Fitness gym and pool. The roster for this role is Friday, Sunday and Monday evenings each week, plus an additional 5 hours on other days.

We are seeking to appoint caring, creative and suitably experienced educators to work in our Outside School Hours Care and Vacation Care Programs. We have two fixed term contracts available for 2024:

  • 12 hours per week in the afternoons during term time in the OSHC program
  • 12.5 hours per week in the afternoons during term time in the OSHC program

Knowledge of the My Time, Our Place framework and EYLF and NQS is desirable but not essential.

These roles are commencing as soon as possible and will run until 23 December 2024, with the possibility of working casually in the Vacation care program if required.

We are seeking to appoint caring, creative and suitably qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our dynamic and innovative Early Learning team, providing early learning programs for children from 12 weeks through to a Kindergarten program for three-to-four-year-olds. This is a wonderful opportunity to join an Early Learning Centre which has proudly achieved an overall rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard (NQS).

Details of the roles are below:

Permanent part-time – 2 roles

  • 14 hours per week
  • 26.5 hours per week

These roles are commencing as soon as possible. The roles also has the scope to undertake casual work to meet the rostering needs of the Centre.

Fixed-term full-time – 38 hours per week on an RDO roster

This role is offered at 38 hours per week with participation in the RDO roster. The contract will start as soon as possible and finish on 23 December 2024.

Fixed-term part-time – 10 hours per week

This role will be across 5 days but will also have the scope to undertake casual work to meet the rostering needs of the Centre. The contract will start as soon as possible and finish on 23 December 2024.

Fixed-term part-time – Inclusion Support Educator – 15 hours per week

This role is offered at 15 hours per week and has the scope to undertake casual work to meet the rostering needs of the Centre. The contract will start as soon as possible and finish on 23 December 2024.

Staff Wellbeing

The Friends’ School is committed to the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of our staff.

We have developed a Staff Wellbeing Program which runs throughout the year. This program is designed to give all staff access to information and activities relating to their physical, mental, emotional and financial wellbeing. The program brings staff together from all over our school, fostering engagement in our community.

Eligible staff have the opportunity to access no-cost membership at Friends Health & Fitness, which provides access to the pool and gym facilities. A morning community Yoga class is also hosted once a week for staff and students. Members of The Friends’ School community are also welcome to attend a short Meeting for Worship held each Thursday morning during term time.

An Employee Assistance Program is supported by the School giving staff access to free confidential counselling and has developed a return to work program and health care plans for non-work related injuries.

The School offers a range of programs to encourage balance in our staff’s working life including Renewal Leave and Paid Parental Leave, which includes paid partner leave and in addition to the federally funded paid parental leave scheme. Long Services Leave is also available after 10 years of continuous service.

Corporate Health Fund memberships (currently with BUPA and St Luke’s) and free onsite flu vaccinations are also organised and provided to staff.
